NEWS AND CURRENT AFFAIRS
CHANNEL
ISLAMABAD
In the background of fast
moving events around the world, it was felt that the audience needed to be kept
informed with the latest events. For this purpose a News and Current Affairs
Channel (NCAC) was launched on April 18, 2001. It was the only channel of its
kind in Asia.
NCAC IS THE ONLY UNIT BESIDES FM 101, WHICH IS DIGITIZED.
The Channel provides its listeners seven hours of programmes of views on current
subjects, through analysis commentaries and discussions, along with regular News
Bulletins, Sports News, Business Updates and Stock Market Reports. A network of
11 stations of the PBC carries the NCAC programmes.

expert/analyst about a current or breaking story (10 minutes)
6.55 p.m. Hasil-e
Mutaliaa: A short duration talk by renowned personalities about their reading
some book or paragraph that, they think, has inspired them and they would like
to share it with the listeners. (Daily, 4mts).
7. 10 p.m. Aaj Ki Baat: A counter
propaganda talk directed towards the Indian propaganda against Pakistan
(5-minutes)
8. 30 p.m. Fikr-o-Nazar: An in depth
discussion programme about the top of the day/week. The programmes invites
analyst. Experts, politicians and scholars to give their view and discuss the
subject at hand (30 minutes)
9. 35 p.m. Insight: A dialogue in English with an expert or analyst on top story
of the day. (20 minutes)
These programmes are
interspersed by news, bulletins, and Business News and Sports roundup.

7. 15 p.m. Aaj Key Mehman
(Friday): Interviews with personalities
from different walks of life who have success stories. (15-minutes)
7.15 p.m. News Roundup (Saturday): A
roundup of the week’s top stories (30mts)
7.15 p.m. Exploring Pakistan (Sunday):
A short review of sights and sounds of Pakistan.(15mts)
7.15 p.m. Environment (Thursday):
Experts talk about environmental issues and suggest solutions. (15-minutes)
7.30 p.m. Nai Ufaq
(Monday): The program provides useful information to students and parents on
various professions by inviting in experts and talking to them about different
aspects and scopes in their respective professions. The aim is to help our youth
to choose a career and work towards a better Pakistan.

7.15 p.m. IT World (Tuesday): An
overview of the current concepts in Information Technology and answers to
listeners queries to various IT problems.
7.15 p.m. News Roundup (Wednesday): A
roundup of the week’s top stories. (15mts)
